Subject: Great show
I had not seen Phil on the East coast since moving back from NM so I did not know what to expect, especially with Chris singing but it was a great night. Cats was a pleasant surprise but I loved the end of the second set from He's Gone > UJB with the crowd singing along, which was a powerful way to end the show. Chris did a soulful reading of Comes a Time too which I thought was excellent.

Ok So this is a great show for which i had front row seats for and I was dying to get a copy of it. I loved the way chris robinson had his bangs all hippied out. Kinda remineded me of Joan Osbourne with the dead the way she had her bangs. Larry Campbell from Bob Dylans band was fantastic. I love great guitarist and he's one of them. Great quality show and it's also vined on the philzone at

I love this new lineup and have always been a huge CR fan from ATL. Th guitar players are very impressive and unpredictable. The balcony was rocking, thanks PHIL.

For all the Chris bashing, i thought he was great, added a whole new aspect to the band, i was second row, so i saw alot! i thought it was a great show, but the encour was not the best way to end the show, loved sless, but whish i coul of seen scofield, he was on fire at sheas!

Subject: Great Venue, Decent Show, Sketchy Scene
Though Chris Robinson butchered some of the songs Barry Sless played a great show this night. Very nice China Cat but what a COP OUT ending. They made the transition into I Know You Rider, then just ended the set, weak. Overall a very nice setlist with some oldies but goodies. Very above average audience recording. Big Boss Man was a nice treat as well. Five stars if Chris Robinson had a voice left, lets see how he is on NYE. The lot was as sketchy as sketchy gets. "Need rolls?" "Sure if you got butter." "Doses?" "Go F%$# yourself" Tour RATS still don't get it I guess.

Subject: Phil + Oakdale Theater = Unbelievable Music
Once again Phil brought the Oakdale Theater to a peak of improvisational music that reaches to the depth of my soul. I loved this version of Phil and Friends. Old songs renewed, spectacular guitar playing from both Campbell and Sless. The Robinson bashing is insane, he adds a great voice and renewed spirit to the music. I loved the old version of Phil and Friends, but think that Phil continues to keep the music I love fresh with the changes in the band.

My favorite highlights are from the first set. The Jams in Pride of Cucamonga and China Cat were spectacular. The energy at the show after China Cat was unbelievable. The second set was spectacular and the encore was a disappointing way to end the show.

I canÂt wait for NYC shows and hope that this band sticks around for a few tours.

Another generous helping of Dead by P&F. I'm sure it convinced of alot of Deadheads back East that Phil & Friends is the real deal.

Subject: THANKS Tony S.
I've just finished downloading the show and burned disc #1 to get an idea of the sound quality ( I'm listening to Chinacat thru headphones as I type).
This is a pretty good sounding recording. There is some minor crowd chatter here + there but nothing obnoxious or 'in your face' woo-hooing.
I was going to finish downloading a different Phil show when I saw this show had been posted. The Chevy (formally Oakdale Thtr) is about 30 mins down the road from me and I didn't even realize Phil was playing there. So coming across a pretty decent recording (I've heard the tapers section at this venue isn't exactly the best area) of this show made my whole night. It was definitely worth the download.
THANKS AGAIN TONY!
